They're bound to impress everyone at the party and they're also perfect for a 'me moment' in our busy lives. That’s what we aim for every time we plug the mixer in or weigh out our yummy chocolate – oh, and we source ingredients from local farms and businesses all over the stunning Mornington Peninsula. Hi, I’m Anelise.
How did Baked by the Bay come about? For many years, I worked in the corporate world. Global businesses, lots of travel and lots of hours working for other people. In 2020 our family moved to the Mornington Peninsula and it became impractical to travel to Melbourne CBD every day. The timing was perfect. We were essentially locked-in to the most beautiful place we could ever ask to live. My husband and I both left our corporate careers and started our own businesses. When I think about what I love most this is what comes to mind; spending time with our family and friends, sharing fun moments, creating memories and watching the people you love most smile.
I realised that when I bake, I create. I'm happiest in our kitchen surrounded by intoxicating smells of melted chocolate and freshly baked cookies. Our two mini taste testers seem to enjoy it too :)
And so, just like that, I started sharing my bakes with family and friends.....then friends or friends....then cafe's.
Baked by the Bay was then officially baked into our hearts and now I'm on a mission to create delicious and thoughtful desserts for people to gift to those they love, share in the moments and watch them smile.
Since then our kitchen has been filled with more sugar than any mum should admit (whoops!) and my family and friends have full time employment as quality control taste testers – all paid in cookie currency, of course.
Everyone wants to impress when gifting or celebrating with friends and family and Baked by the Bay always has this in mind – we create desserts & gifts that are thoughtful and bring a smile to those you love.
Every celebration, big or small, is a joyous occasion and our desserts are made for moments of joy. Not only do we hand make every product from scratch, but we source local ingredients from our backyard – the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.
